What is Private Duty Home Care?
Private duty means “private pay.” No government funding covers the cost of care, including Medicare or Medicaid. Private duty home care may be paid through long-term care insurance benefits, directly by the client, or other types of arrangements such as a trust that has been set up for someone’s care.
Private duty home care can be provided through a licensed home health care agency, a nurse registry, or an independent caregiver. Horizon Care Services is a licensed and insured nurse registry that provides the following high quality private duty home care services:
- Home Health Aides: assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, eating, and toileting.
- Companion Care: companionship and conversation, transportation to appointments and social outings, and medication reminders.
- Homemaker Services: meal preparation, laundry, and light housekeeping.
- Nursing Care: Registered nurses, (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs,) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
